A party is at liberty to file an appeal/application in person or can engage the services of an advocate.
Court fees is assessed in accordance with the fees schedule depending on the nature of the claim or appeal. (For the full list on fees, click here (Link))
A person intending to appeal to the court is required to file a notice of appeal within 14 days of the decision. Please refer to the Court of Appeal Rules, 2022 for all requirements for filing an appeal.
The matter will be listed for Case Management in preparation for the hearing. A Case Management notice will be issued by the Registry.
Appeals and Applications are listed for hearing on a first-in-first-out basis (FIFO). The Court will issue and serve hearing notices.
A link is sent a day before the hearing to counsel on record or party if in person, through the email address provided by parties during filing.

Once a matter is heard the court may give its decision immediately after the hearing, or on a reserved date.
One is required to write a letter to the Deputy Registrar, pay the requisite fee and the same will be issued within the shortest time possible.
In civil matters, either party may draft the order and serve the other party for approval. If approved, the party who extracted the order requests the Deputy Registrar in writing to have the same signed. If not approved after 7 days, the order is listed before the Deputy Registrar for settlement.
In criminal matters, the Order is extracted by the Court.
No. A party is required to go back to the Superior Court from where the appeal emanated from, with a certified copy of Judgment and an order from the Court of Appeal for execution.
